The Committee to Protect Cannabis Regulation is seeking a talented Campaign Coordinator for the effort to protect cannabis regulation in Massachusetts on the November 2026 ballot.
There’s an out-of-state effort to repeal existing cannabis regulations in Massachusetts after voters approved them in 2016. Since the first legal recreational sales began in 2018, nearly $2 billion dollars in local and state tax revenue has been collected, helping cities and towns that host these dispensaries. Regulation has also mitigated youth access, decreasing school disciplinary incidents involving cannabis.
The Committee to Protect Cannabis Regulation was formed to protect adult access to safe, tested, and regulated cannabis and to ensure that Massachusetts does not recriminalize people for selling cannabis.
The Campaign Coordinator will report to the campaign leadership team. They will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of the campaign and campaign staff, work with the Organizing Director to coordinate with dispensaries in voter outreach, and coordinate campaign strategy and execution between the campaign leadership team and campaign staff.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the day-to-day aspects of the campaign, including managing the day-to-day work of campaign staff and working with the campaign leadership team to coordinate between staff and campaign vendors
- Oversee campaign messaging/communications, field and membership mobilization, data collection and administration, polling and research, paid/earned/social media, website design and development, and other aspects of the campaign as needed
- Working in a high-stakes environment with multiple stakeholders
- Managing the campaign budget and cash flow and working with compliance and campaign leadership team to ensure campaign adherence to OCPF regulations
The ideal candidate would have:
- Electoral campaign experience, or statewide ballot experience
- Experience with working with a team of outside vendors and consultants that will complement the full-time campaign team
- Demonstrated ability to hire and manage a strong, effective and diverse staff
- Experience working with/knowledge of the Massachusetts cannabis industry
- A professional, courteous and respectful disposition with all members of the coalition, staff and community members, along with the ability to represent the campaign to a variety of audiences and stakeholders
Diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. The Committee to Protect Cannabis Regulation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, genetic information, protected veterans, marital or familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability status, criminal record information (except where permitted under applicable law), or any other category prohibited by local, state or federal law.
