CONSTITUENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE (ATTLEBORO DISTRICT OFFICE)
OFFICE of CONGRESSMAN JAKE AUCHINCLOSS (MA-04)

 SUMMARY:

The Constituent Services Representative in the Attleboro District Office is a key member of the Congressman’s district team, providing exemplary constituent support to the residents of the 35 cities and towns in the Massachusetts 4th Congressional District. This position will be primarily focused on serving as a liaison to the federal government for immigration casework, but will also potentially include other areas of casework on behalf of the Congressman.

The Constituent Services Representative will be stationed full time in the Attleboro District Office and will work closely with the District Director and other members of the Congressman’s District and DC teams to provide outstanding service to constituents.  While the Attleboro District Office is accessible via public transit, the Constituent Services Representative will occasionally need to travel to the Newton and Fall River Offices and to other destinations across the MA-04 Congressional District so access to a car is required.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience.  Current benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, the Federal Employee Retirement System, and the Student Loan Repayment Program if eligible.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Serves as a liaison with federal government entities for individual constituent concerns;
  • Maintains accurate and complete files on all assigned casework to keep track of all casework progress;
  • Screens and monitors cases to determine if referring the case to other government entities is appropriate;
  • Answers casework correspondence, meets with constituents, and serves as a liaison with federal, state, and local authorities to act as the representative for Congressman Auchincloss within their areas of responsibility;
  • Writes responses to constituent letters relating to casework to answer questions or inform them of case progress;
  • Under the supervision of the District Director, conducts targeted constituent outreach and attends community meetings and district events to support Congressman Auchincloss’s constituent services program;
  • Monitors casework trends to provide regular written updates to Congressman Auchincloss, and to help the district team determine opportunities for constituent engagement;
  • Assists the office with district-based responsibilities for Congressman Auchincloss’s constituent correspondence/mail system;
  • Answers telephones, checks voicemail, greets visitors, and assists with light administrative tasks in the Attleboro District Office;
  • Organizes workload to prioritize tasks in accordance with varying deadlines and ensure work is completed in an efficient and effective manner in a dynamic and fluid work environment;
  • Maintains an excellent working relationship with Congressman Auchincloss, coworkers, and constituents;
  • Accepts performance-based criticism and direction;
  • Meets attendance requirements as established by the office;
  • Works well under pressure and handles stress;
  • Works a flexible schedule including long hours, nights, and weekends; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL PREFERENCES:

  • Experience in social services, paralegal, or medical administrative professions;
  • Verbal proficiency in a second language in addition to English; and
  • Familiarity with the 35 cities and towns in the district: Attleboro, Bellingham, Berkley, Brookline, Blackstone, Dighton, Dover, Fall River, Foxborough, Franklin, Freetown, Hopedale, Lakeville, Mansfield, Medfield, Mendon, Milford, Millis, Millville, Needham, North Attleborough, Newton, Norfolk, Norton, Plainville, Raynham, Rehoboth, Seekonk, Sharon, Sherborn, Somerset, Swansea, Taunton, Wellesley, Wrentham
