Location: Boston, MA. This position is based in Massachusetts and is full-time.

Salary: $7,000 to $9,000 monthly, June through November

The Yes for a Safe Massachusetts Ballot Committee is seeking a talented Digital Director for the campaign to protect Massachusetts’ 2024 gun safety law on the November 2026 ballot.

In 2024, Massachusetts passed its strongest gun safety law in a decade, establishing stronger protections against ghost guns and modernizing gun safety regulations. Now the gun lobby wants to overturn this updated law through a repeal referendum. The Yes for a Safe Massachusetts campaign is building a powerful, state-wide response to protect this law on the 2026 ballot and help keep our communities safe.

The Digital Director will report to the campaign leadership team. The Digital Director must be highly organized, creative, and passionate. This individual will design and execute the campaign’s organic digital program, in coordination with the communications and field team, as well as play a key role in any paid digital efforts.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing a digital communications plan, in collaboration with the campaign team and campaign leadership
  • Overseeing and executing the campaign’s program on social media platforms and an email program, including advising on and managing relevant platforms beyond the campaign’s current footprint (Facebook and Instagram)
  • Developing regular campaign content including graphics, video, and written communications for social media and email
  • Setting and maintaining benchmarks for organic online engagement and digital fundraising with consultants
  • Utilizing the latest technologies to organize and activate voters online and generate organic engagement
  • Coordinating with communications, field, and fundraising consultants on online fundraising program
  • Integrating the digital program and more traditional communications methods seamlessly

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Experience with day-to-day management of multiple social media and email platforms, simultaneously
  • Past campaign and digital communications experience
  • Ability to be quick to adapt to changing campaign situations
  • Comfort producing timely, message-aligned content tailored to specific social media platforms and other digital mediums
  • Strong creative skills, including high proficiency for writing and visual design
  • Technical expertise strongly preferred (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, varied social media platforms)
  • Knowledge and experience with translation services, different communication tactics and platforms with non-English-speaking communities
