This is a director-level position with broad organizational visibility and accountability. The Director serves as ASGCC’s senior internal finance leader and primary internal resource for accounting operations, financial systems, grant accounting, reporting, internal controls, and financial administration.

About the Role

The Director will oversee the integrity, accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness of ASGCC’s financial information while remaining operationally hands-on. Working closely with the CEO and Fractional CFO, the Director will translate financial activity into meaningful management information, maintain budget and grant reporting structures, support budget development and redesign, strengthen coding and reporting practices, and identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, controls, and automation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate and complete financial records
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and monthly close
  • Coordinate payroll, benefits accounting, 401(k) deposits, and related financial allocations with HR and providers
  • Manage grant accounting, reimbursement requests, grant budgets, allowable costs, reporting deadlines, and supporting documentation
  • Maintain the operating budget and prepare budget-to-actual analyses, variance reporting, and financial schedules
  • Prepare timely internal financial reports and management information for leadership and program managers
  • Serve as the primary internal owner of accounting and financial reporting systems, including chart of accounts and coding structures
  • Identify opportunities for automation, improved workflows, stronger controls, and more efficient financial processes
  • Coordinate routine banking, insurance administration, audit, tax, and 340B financial activities
  • Develop and maintain finance procedures and SOPs and provide day-to-day financial guidance to staff
  • Partner with the CEO, Fractional CFO, Data Analyst, program leaders, auditors, banks, insurance providers, and funding agencies

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • At least five years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience, with demonstrated readiness for a director-level role
  • Demonstrated experience leading day-to-day accounting operations and the full general ledger cycle
  • Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, monthly close, financial reporting, and Generally Acceptable Accounting Principals (GAAP)
  • Experience preparing audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills and experience with accounting and financial reporting software
  • Ability to analyze financial information, identify trends and variances, and communicate findings clearly
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, discretion, and ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial audiences and lead through influence
  • Comfortable working in an environment where sexual language, adult themes, and mature content are regularly present
  • Proficient in exercising high linguistic sensitivity to prevent causing distress, harm, or offense to vulnerable client populations

Preferred Experience

  • Federal and state grant accounting
  • Government reimbursement invoicing
  • Redesigning financial reporting structures, chart of accounts, or coding systems
  • 340B financial administration
  • Improving accounting systems, internal controls, workflows, and automation
