Job Title: Director of Community Partnerships Reports to: SVP of Advancement
FLSA Status: Full time, Exempt Department: Advancement
Position Summary: Under the direction of the SVP of Advancement, the Director of Community Partnerships works closely with the CEO, senior leadership, residency, pharmacy, and community support services teams to advance GLFHC’s mission through strong, strategic community relationships. The Director is responsible for developing and managing a cohesive portfolio of partnerships that strengthens GLFHC’s visibility, impact, and reputation across the Merrimack Valley.
This role requires aligning partnership strategy with visible, high-impact engagement activities, including GLFHC’s annual spring fundraiser and community-wide initiatives such as National Health Center Week. The Director is accountable for translating strategy into execution—coordinating people, resources, and timelines to deliver measurable results—while collaborating internally and externally to ensure strong alignment and follow-through.
Job Responsibilities and Performance Standards:
Program Creation
· Develop and implement an annual operating plan for community relations and partnerships, including goals, metrics, and evaluation.
· Establish a disciplined process for identifying, evaluating, and advancing high-impact partnership opportunities.
· Assess existing partnerships for quality, alignment, impact, and growth potential; identify gaps and new opportunities.
· Collaborate with Community Support Services to align partnership strategies with priorities related to health equity and social determinants of health.
· Represent GLFHC on internal and external committees that advance multi-sector collaboration.
Partnership Development – External
· Build and sustain relationships with community-based organizations, non-profits, government agencies, healthcare partners, and civic and professional associations aligned with GLFHC’s mission.
· Collaborate with internal teams and partners to design and implement programs, initiatives, and events that respond to community needs.
· Convene and facilitate coalitions and alliances that advance shared goals and collective impact.
· Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for GLFHC’s annual spring fundraiser, managing concept development, fundraising strategy, execution, and post-event outcomes in collaboration with Advancement staff.
· Plan and oversee other special events, including GLFHC’s Community Health Fair and targeted donor and community engagement activities.
· Serve as a visible representative and ambassador for GLFHC at community events, meetings, and conferences.
Partnership Development – Internal
· Engage and align senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and staff around the strategic value of partnerships and community engagement.
· Work cross-functionally with executive leadership, program leaders, clinicians, and staff to identify and advance collaborative opportunities.
· Provide guidance and leadership to staff involved in partnership and event-related work.
· Ensure partnership initiatives align with FQHC regulations and organizational requirements.
· Prepare and present clear, actionable updates and reports for leadership, the Board, and key stakeholders.
· Support grant development efforts, including RFP input and proposal review.
· Manage the community partnerships budget in coordination with Finance.
· Champion a collaborative, transparent, and goal-driven approach to community engagement across the organization.
Event Planning and Management
· Lead planning and execution of GLFHC’s annual Spring Benefit, with direct responsibility for sponsorship fundraising, ticket sales, and overall event revenue performance.
· Provide both strategic oversight and hands-on project management, ensuring all aspects of event planning are executed on time and to a high standard, including timelines, vendors, budget, and day-of operations.
· Actively drive sponsor and donor engagement, including identifying prospects, securing commitments, and managing relationships before, during, and after the event.
· Co-lead National Health Center Week (NHCW) activities each August, with primary responsibility for planning and executing GLFHC’s Community Health Fair, including partner coordination, outreach, logistics, and on-site execution.
· Serve as the central point of accountability for major events, coordinating senior leadership, Board members, staff, and external partners to ensure seamless delivery and measurable results.
Education
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (non-profit management, public health, communications, philanthropy, healthcare management) or equivalent experience.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in partnership development, community engagement, philanthropy, public or non-profit leadership, or a related field.
· Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
· Demonstrated ability to build trust and work effectively within diverse communities.
· Deep understanding of health equity, community dynamics, and social determinants of health.
· Proven ability to lead in complex, fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders.
· Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, details, and competing priorities.
· Demonstrated success managing complex, revenue-generating events from concept through execution, including hands-on oversight and ownership of outcomes.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
· Confident public speaker, comfortable engaging with senior leaders and Boards.
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and outcomes-focused.
· Collaborative leadership style paired with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
· Familiarity with institutional advancement and resource development.
· Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Teams, and Co-Pilot.
· Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required by events and community activities.
